Just as there are five basic ballet positions, there are also five basic steps to making a Freed of London pointe shoe. Click each step below to see just what we’re made of.

Measuring & Binding
Following the shaping of the platform and block, the Maker stamps their unique identifying mark onto the sole. The shoe is then placed in an oven overnight where it bakes and hardens.

Now, the vamp, side and back requirements are measured and marked by hand prior to cutting down and binding the shoe.
