Makers' Symbols
“I just recently changed to Freed Pointe shoes and LOVE them! I have heard that somewhere on the shoe, the maker makes his mark, so that you can get the same maker each time--is this true? And if so, how do I find this mark, so that I can stay with the Pointe shoes I have now grown to love? And information would be great! Thanks so much for you time and making such GREAT Pointe shoes!”
Sincerely, Karyn LaVerne, California
On the sole of each and every Freed of London Pointe Shoe, between the size and width markings, is the unique stamp—or symbol—of the master cobbler who painstakingly hand crafted that particular shoe.
The chart below identifies each Freed of London Maker by their unique symbol, as well as the block description and weight of their respective work.
Note: Requests for a specific Maker can only be made when placing a special order.
